Welcome to our new home…

Welcome to our new home…

For the best part of a year, The Next Web events team has been in talks with the Amsterdam city government about expanding the venue we’ve called home for the last half a decade – in order to create something that can accommodate the scale of content, companies and new contacts that we hope to bring you at TNW Conference this May.

Thanks to both the City of Amsterdam and StartupAmsterdam, our production team have secured approval to expand our venue to three times its original size.

Here’s a handy GIF to show you what’s changed since last year:

This is how you scale: The Next Web Conference will triple its physical space this May

What’s more, months of conversation and analysis with expert space planners and production designers has also given us the ideal number of participants: you can now expect to meet 9,400 like-minded attendees per day at TNW Conference 2016.

Unfortunately, this also means that there are 600 fewer tickets available for TNW Conference than previously forecasted, which in turn means there are now just under a thousand tickets left in total. Despite this decision equating to a massive ticket revenue cut, it wasn’t a difficult one to make. CNBC called TNW Conference “The most intimate tech conference on the planet” for a reason – we aren’t going to jeopardize that reputation for profit.

So what does this expansion equate to?

On May 26 & 27 in Amsterdam, you can expect to see:

  • 6000m² of business floor (of which, just 84m² remains available)

  • Five stages and eight tracks of content: from fintech and ecommerce, to marketing and growth acceleration

  • 130 Speakers and more than 200 exhibiting companies

  • Two days of carefully targeted workshops

  • Three food courts hosting 22 food trucks accompanied by live DJs and bands, as well as a gin tonic & seafood bar

  • An arcade gaming hall to help smoothen your networking, an Open Air Stage with silent disco headphones and much, much more..

If that wasn’t enough, work hasn’t stopped on our lineup either: this week we’ve added the Founders of Buffer, CollegeHumor and Meltwater, as well as the CTO of Dow Jones. You can take a look at the full list of speakers here, or find out more about the dozens of side events also taking place during conference week here.
