Google brings the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 to eight new European countries in the Google Play store

Google has given us an avalanche of news to grapple with this week, and with broader availability for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 it doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.

Quietly, the company started offering its high-value smartphone and tablet in the Google Play store for eight new markets last night: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden. That’s almost double the number both devices were offered in before.

Europeans now have a fair number of announcements to celebrate. Google Chromecast launched in the UK and nine other European markets today, and both Google Play Movies and Google Play Music All Access have opened their doors to a number of new countries in the continent.
