Instagram is today adding a small but incredibly welcome feature: you can now add subtitles to your Stories. And in a very Instagram-y move, you do so via a special sticker.
Sound off ?
…with sound off ?Now you can add a captions sticker in Stories (coming soon to Reels) that automatically turns what you say into text.

Although captions were already available in the IGTV app, bringing them to Instagram proper adds a welcome layer of accessibility for those who can’t or don’t want to listen to Stories.
In a nice touch, the app also lets you edit words to make sure your messages actually come across as intended, as well as customize the font and style of the captions. That said, it doesn’t seem users are able to enable captions themselves when viewing videos; it’s only available to those posting a story.
The feature is rolling out to a ‘handful of countries’ and is only available in English. Still, the company hopes to expand it to other regions ‘soon,’ and plans to bring the feature to Reels in due time as well.
